The
Clark Fork River is famous for the whitewater
on the Alberton Gorge, but little is mentioned
about the awe inspiring Tarkio Canyon just
a few miles down-river from the Alberton
Gorge.
Drift in the deep cool eddies inside
our dry, steady rafts as you spot for birds
in rich and varying habitat along the banks.
Our trips start early, 7:30 am, so dress
warm and eat a good breakfast as we take our
time drifting down the Clark Fork River.
Birding
from a raft is one of the most ideal ways
to bird. You can cover a lot of ground
while moving almost unnoticeably between constantly
changing habitat.
You
will be provided a life jacket and lunch,
you bring warm clothes, binoculars, field
guides and provide everything else. Your
guide rows, pulling over as much as you
want while you bird from the raft.
